Money or Education? This seems like a simple enough question but if we think about it the answer to this is not that simple. The importance of both Money and Education is not quantifiable in our day-to-day lives. Money on one side drives most of our lives. In almost every decision we make we have to consider money. But Education cannot be downplayed either since it gives us the basic tools we need to exist. Let’s compare the importance of the two and see if we can finally reach a conclusion on the age-old debate.
The Importance of Education
Education is a key part of a society’s growth and progress. An educated society can think, choose and decide for itself. They can significantly contribute to their families and their society in various aspects. When scientists and doctors are working tirelessly to save the world, certain things can be put into perspective. It goes on to show just how much a well-educated person can contribute to society.
Education is the key to turn a weakness into strength. It offers different tools and ways to understand problems that lay ahead of us and help us to resolve them. The importance of Education starts when we’re a child learning how to communicate with others. It continues until the end when we’re old and reading the newspaper every day looking for new information.
The Importance of Money
Beyond the need for a comfortable lifestyle, money helps us achieve our goals and support things we care about most; family, education, health care, charity, adventure, fun, etc. It helps us get some of life’s intangibles; freedom or independence and the opportunity to make the most of our skills and talents. It gives us the ability to choose our own course in life. It provides financial security. With money, much good can be done and unnecessary suffering can be either avoided or eliminated.
Money can give us the power to make a difference in the lives of others. People who figure out what they truly value and then align their money with those values have the strongest sense of financial and personal well-being.
Education over Money
Money can buy an object, but not the thought process that went into creating that object. With knowledge, one can acquire money, but money alone cannot help in acquiring knowledge. Wealth might buy what you “want”, but education allows you to understand what you “need” to live a better quality life. This is evidenced by the many benefits you can get from an education that money can’t buy.
Money may enable us to control our lives but it is Education that makes us an asset to society.
Education is very essential for everyone to enhance their knowledge, way of living, and both their social and financial status throughout their life. Being able to receive a quality education is the birthright of every individual; limiting which is a crime.
Money over Education
The entire goal of Education in today’s time is to get a well-paying job which shows the importance of money. Educational Institutes will need to receive money to supply students with essentials. Parents pay for their children to study from the best institutes. Education would be at a standstill without money.
If someone understands the power they hold with money, they can help bring real changes and affect those around them. Money is a slippery slope but it can also bring about the change we wish to see in the world.
The question of Money or Education has been a long-standing debate. Even if a person has money, they might still lack the maturity to not be swayed by the glitter of it. A teacher educating someone about the difference between right and wrong could be the reason behind someone contributing to their society. It’s an old saying that with great power comes great responsibility and Education is the practice of training the mind to think.
